I had no idea what I would be getting involved with when I started to pick colors from photographs of the play doh products. I am certain that several of the colors are repeated and that better colors could be picked from scans of the actual dough.

This is a palette of what should be Play Doh only products.

I quickly found myself in the land of products within products. It was an interesting weekend that I picked the colors from the PlayDoh web site. I watched a movie about what happened to a man who lived on McDonalds food for a month. I did not learn too many new things, it was a good demonstration of what should be generally known as well as funny and entertaining. I did start craving a big mac and we had homemade egg mcbiscuits (I like to call them Sausage Egg on Smart Bread) the next day.

This same weekend, I watched a movie about eating the actual food represented in some of these colors. It might be that the clay here is less toxic than the food. It would be lower fat and lower cholesterol. Comparing the sodium of each (the food and the PlayDoh) might be telling. I ate my fair share of it (the dough) when I was younger....

Picking these colors can be mind numbing work. I was trying to determine a name for the color of dough they included with the restaurant kit, it really is the color of chicken nuggets, but you were supposed to use it for the bun as well -- my mind wandered back to something someone had pointed out during a radio interview I had heard. Several of the McDonalds jingles are etched permanently in my brain. It is just a fact. There was an interesting word change in one of the more famous jingles. "You deserve a break today" became "Have you had your break today" and in one swift move, the population started to eat fast food everyday. Still picking colors, I started to think about the jingle from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I wish I knew more about music.

Meanwhile, McDonalds uses linux, which means they are using gnu/linux. They have employed 5% of the United States population (or at least had when I first heard this in the late 1980's) and I have watched my friends with children have an easier time traveling once the kids wore themselves out in the play area and after an injection of sugar and fat to make the play and pass out effect greater.

Anyways, it all seems suitable for a gimp palette.

I mostly missed these. I had to search to make sure they weren't Disney. I am still not sure.

The disney colors. I didn't watch too much disney until the Love Bug came around. Earlier this week, I had been reflecting on how Koyaanisqatsi was a better Fantasia for the organic crowd. To be honest, I have not seen Fanatasia.

I ran into some problems naming these colors. The Disney Princess Can Topper Assortment had four unique colors and it was up to me to know these princesses from each other. I asked for some help on the irc:
