DMC® embroidery thread/floss colors

Picked from the web site

I will be honest, I cannot remember the web site I got the original htmlized colors for this palette. This site at least starts by explaining that there is no way to insure that the color you see in the monitor is going to be the color of the thread. If they had let me know the devices they used (like the crayola person did) to read the thread info into the computer, in theory, you can get the actual color by converting it back to an icc cie oss osi LAB (or L*A*B) version.

This palette was put together by me a few years ago and then fixed by Jeff Trefftz (who added the names and for all I know, put more reliable color information in it ....)

Sorted

There had been some passing around of scripts on the gimp user mail. Jeff had written a script that would sort a palette in a few different ways and another one that would turn palettes into gradients. Sorting the colors out before it turned into a gradient made really beautiful gradients.

This is a palette was sorted by hsv. I think I sorted it because I could and because at the time I was hoping it would help me make a counted cross stitch plug-in for TheGIMP.

I think I wrote a tutorial about how to use scripts that are broken from emailers ....
