David Odin has been working on new previews for TheGIMP, they will be appearing in the gimp-2.2 version. As it is, they are being added to the development version and to be honest, scared me at first -- they popped up out of no where and worked really well. I am getting used to seeing them now and have started to collect them here as I am working on other things.
The images shown here are the previews displaying at the default size, instructions on how to change the preview size are given in the gtkrc section of the graphical user interface section of the basic tutorials collection.
