GIMP2 basics Preferences

Default Image Grid

The Image Grid is a new thing in Gimp2, by default this new feature display is turned off in the Image Window Appearance Preferences. You can turn it on (or off) for individual images via the menu by following View -->Image Grid.

A long time user of TheGIMP, I am not very acquainted with this grid. It is recommended that you use it for yourself and form your own opinions about what would be better default values for your gimp.

change in the default

For gimps version 2.2.3 and before, the default setting for the image grid is 10px x 10px; gimps after this will be set 32px x 32px. If you are going to be using the grid with your gimp-2.2.3 or earlier version, I recommend that you change this due to the default snap-to behavior that both the grid and the guides use.
