The scaled down version of the Wilber Constellation is not so good of an example since the stars made on the original were lost when I reduced the size so much. This will be an example of how I should have used the Levels tool to fix it and did use them before making Wilber Constellation with Flare.
The first example is easy. The xcf should already have the proper layer highlighted. The Levels Tool might be in your toolbox, you can also find it from <Image>/Tools/Color/Levels or from <Image>/Colors/Levels. All you have to do is load the tool and then touch the active layer.
The second example is more complicated since it involves activating two different parts of the layer and depending on where you started to read these instructions, you might not know about that. Review how to activate the layer or the mask and then use the Levels tool on both parts of the masked layer to make the stars look better at this smaller scale.
