Yet Another Bikeshed

no longer is it a boob toob

In the decades that preceeded the end of the year 2003 and those several years since then, in no way was I prepared to have so few real life encounters, dialogs and relationships as these last few years have provided me. Enough that makes me not want to watch the fiction machine that is available.

This last summer, there was no display for the fiction factories and it was only occasionally missed by me, and I have had that feeling before. Now instead of a giant tube display for it there is now a giant crystal display. What I dislike most recently in the image stream that it displays is how many of the current programs I see which present themselves as fact rarely or never show two people whose histories I am familiar with at the same time. That and how some current movies tend to feel like mad-libs with character names and locations edited in and not feeling like a real piece of fiction, carefully thought out and made to tell a story or to simply entertain.

All that being said, I recently rewatched a much loved movie and have been inspired to work on that diary/log/web log of things I saw on the television and the rest of this web log entry is just a list of the new things for today, which will probably get filled in with other things I have seen recently in the coming days. Post-dated since it is a like a diary....

New additions to the entertainment section here:

• the most wrongly named movie I know of
• the movie that was never on cable when I could see it
• new section containing quotes, because talk is hard....

There are a few other new entries there, if you don't care for those listed here you probably will not like the others.

Perhaps it should be called a dubtub now.

Have you noticed...?

Have you noticed that there are some web loggers who are web logging a lot more often now that the television writers have gone on strike?

I have noticed this happening in some of the aggregations that I read.

I am going to call this phenomenon strogging.
