about me

Considering how much of my 40+ years were spent on a three county area in Michigan, I have managed to do a lot, without the burden of accomplishment to spoil the memories. I have been very fortunate in that I have always been surrounded by people who could do everything I was trying to do better than I was as well. In my life have been some great mathematicians and software writers; amateur astronomers and gardeners; game players and home makers -- just to name a few.

my resume

I found a subset of my experiences which is worth $100K+/yr in Mountain View, California and listed them here. I will be honest here about it, one of the accomplishments listed is a lie.

me and (computers | my old resume)

I started to have daily access to a home computer in 1998. I used a computer with Windows95 and another with GNU/Linux. The Windows stuff was expensive and while it didn't actually crash on me that often, the Linux stuff was fun and it worked really well. As I became familiar with what was available, there was little that I couldn't do with my computer that I wanted to.

After a while I became (at least by 2000 standards), relatively adept with GIMP. No formal training in photography, publication layout or any sort of design, I thought I would try to help by redesigning the web site. I coordinated the efforts of others and contributed to the making of web pages located at mmmaybe.gimp.org. It was completed except for about 10 pages which needed just a few minor edits when the situation changed so much, I have often since then reconsidered that perhaps Linux is the only computer game, safely encompassing all other games which are managed by any logic device.

Now that my site design has been redesigned and now that the management of the web site has been taken over by Sven Neumann and Karine Delvare who then deemed it unmaintained, I have been putting my energy into making and maintaining expander.gtk.org an aggregation of the web logs of gtk+ developers, listview.gtk.org a list of current gtk+ bug reports, parasites.gimp.org a list of current GIMP bug reports, layers.gimp.org an aggregation of the web logs of GIMP developers, pixels.gimp.org an aggregation of the web logs of GIMP users and a few others.

That being said, I have had better results managing people I can make eye contact with (with the exception of managing those who managed me, perhaps). My first attempt at a resume has been (re)located in the entertainment section of this web site; at the suggestion of whoever was writing email for this individual. In defense of that resume, life might present you with many different kinds of people to speak to and share time with. I think all experiences like this, whether imposed upon you or whether entered by choice, I think all experiences with people from different backgrounds should be considered to be good. Feel free to laugh from it. I honestly was laughing through a great deal of those experiences. People are (usually) pretty cool, no matter what the situation is.

pictures of me

If you are a girl, the world can be quick to slap you with some modesty demand or another. Then there is just the need for some privacy. After the world slaps you around with their expectations and disappointments in you and their need for your modesty -- all of a sudden there are a bunch of people around who have the same appearance qualities as you do and now in your life getting the rewards and not being modest about it.

That was a complicated way of saying, here are a few images of me...

The image on my writing index is not me.
