GIMP

name the layer effect

I got really depressed while following some instructions on how to emulate Photoshop Layer Effects with GIMP.

It is probably better to make the layer mode effect and let people tell you its name than it is to learn how they did it.

This section is a collection of layer effects whose Photoshop equivelent I do not know.

Name These Layer Effects

The JTLeveler Layer Effect

There were two things I didn't know about GIMP when I first followed this tutorial, which was written for another GIMP from another millenia even. One thing was that this tutorial could be scripted. The other thing was that it had been scripted already.

This layer effect script adjusts the levels to JTL's suggestion in the tutorial.

This should be about using pyblosxom to make web pages

It is not about that though. It is the end of a set of web pages I made with pyblosxom. It is so easy for me to see how to set GIMP up to scriptmatically make some of these descriptions and lists with different sizes of background images to match the amount of text.....

During those first few weeks when I started to move things from my old computer to a new one, GIMP and pyblosxom made journaling about it a lot of fun and I actually have quite a few web pages in spite of the often broken software I was writing about.

There are sad and embarrassing things on this web site, but none of them have anything to do with GIMP or pyblosxom.....
